Almost Walking

My Laney Bug is almost walking...ALMOST. She has taken 4-5 steps but then she sits down and crawls. This has been going on for almost 2 months. I just want her to walk already. She stands up holding on to furniture, the dog, my leg or the toilet (not one of my best mommy moments). I keep trying to hold her hands and get her used to her land legs but we are not quite there yet. Mr. Clean(new name that I have been trying to think of since I started this blog) and I both walked by 9 1/2 months so we expected her to as well. Ha, she made us realized AGAIN that we cannot limit her to our thinking. Hopefully she will be walking by her first birthday in July.

I must say "You are Krazy Klingers!" My advice is tie her legs together so she can't walk. It sounds awful, but you will thank me for another month or two of her not walking.

I am just kidding - sort of. Princess didn't walk until after her first birthday which was fine with me.

Now she just runs every where and is so "independent". There are some days I wish she still hadn't learned to walk.

I agree with Thrills - I would trip her every moment you can. Once she's walking - forget about it! You think you are busy now??? Now she'll be exploring things she can reach up on counters and tabletops. The fun is just beginning! Enjoy!

Jeter was walking 10-15 consecutive steps by his first birthday and Barber waited until he was almost 15 months old!

It is true about the changes walking brings...some are liberating, others not so much.

She'll walk soon and then in a blink of an eye she'll be running!

Brady took his first steps the day after he turned 11 months - within 3 weeks, he was walking very well. Every child is different! She will be walking in no time!

I really enjoyed when he started to walk - I never thought "oh no!" When they are crawling, they are already getting into things - when they walk, they just get to it a little faster! :)

Mr. Clean is a perfect name for your hubby. Love it!

Regarding the walking...Junior was almost 15 months old when he walked. On hindsight, 15 years old would still be too soon.

Oh, I miss those days of legitimately keeping them captive. I wish I had thought of the idea of tying their legs together! JUST KIDDING!

Shaggy walked at 13 months, just in time for me to get a break before Dr. Doolittle came along. DD walked at 10 1/2 months - not even for me, but for "Uncle Tim" and Daddy when I was away for the day. Tim S. held THAT tidbit over my head for months :) LadyBug walked at 13 mos. and then Baby Blue Eyes walked and ran in same month - 10 months old.

I love the "sea legs" stage, wobbling all over and falling on their poochy little diapered butts. Enjoy every minute of it and kiss her little cheeks for us.

And hugs and hi to Mr. Clean too :)
